Clayton Cameron (b-1959)
As I’ve mentioned, it was a great experience to see many well-known drummers at the NAMM shows. I saw Clayton Cameron in one of the exhibitor’s booths. I first heard about him from his reputation as a brush player. His gig was with the great, Tony Bennett.
Before Tony…he played with Joe Williams, Joe Pass, George Shearing, Sammy Davis Jr. - Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He started a 10 - year - gig with Tony Bennett in 1992, recording 13 CD’s and winning 13 Grammys. Clayton is the author of “Brushworks” his educational study of playing the drums with brushes.
