I’ll be flashing back to 1964. After The Beatles played on Ed Sullivan, the British Invasion was open. This tune ‘You really got me’ has the distinction of being The Kinks breakthrough hit. Hearing this on the radio as a 14 year old kid is memorable. Amazing how it was so dynamic coming through a small car or home radio. The distortion guitar sound was created after guitarist Dave Davies sliced his guitar speaker with a razor blade.
